2016 Pride Parade Religious Confrontation
For several years now, I've been photographing the clash of religious views that plays out at the Atlanta Pride parade. In past years, the parade protestors have been spread out over the length of the parade.
This year the protestors were corralled into one area. A cadre of police officers surrounded them to reduce confrontations.
A few years ago, anti-protestors who have come to be called the Pansy Patrol, brought giant flowers to hold in front of the protestors. Sadly, this year, the Pansy Patrol was not allowed to block the hateful signs. But, never fear, loving Christians and Jews held up signs of affirmation near the protestors signs. And of course, churches and synagogues marching in the parades had signs on their floats, held signs in the air and sang songs of love.
Love wins, again!
